ISTD's 32nd National Awards for Innovative Training Practices 2021 - 22

We are extremely delighted to inform you that Indian Society for Training and Development, New Delhi will be organizing its “32nd National Awards for Innovative Training Practices”. The Final Round of Presentations for the National Awards will be held on the 15th July 2023 (Saturday) at New Delhi.  

The award recognizes the pioneering and innovative Training practices that impact not just organizations but also businesses, society, and the profession as a whole. The “Innovative Training Practices Award” felicitate and salute organizations that stand out for the quality of their innovative practices in learning & development. Such companies continuously & successfully develop and implement Innovative Strategies for learning and development; utilize people’s advancement as a tool for growth and create competitive advantage through their training initiatives. So here is your chance to be in the forefront of companies championing people development through L&D.  

The primary objective of these Awards is to encourage and felicitate organizations making their excellent contribution to the business through Innovative Training practices.  

The competition is open to the following categories:  

  • Public Sector Undertaking (PSU) 
  • Private Sector (Services)  
  • Private Sector (Manufacturing)  
  • Emerging Stars (For start-ups who have been in operations for at least three years and are not older than 5 years as on March 31, 2021  
  • Institutes / B-schools

The category-wise applications submitted by organizations competing for the coveted National Award for Innovative Training Practices are put through two rounds (Preliminary Round & Final Round) and a very High-Powered Jury selects the category-wise winners post final round of presentations.

In the above context, we would like to request for your participation and also make use of your good offices for wide publicity of the awards & solicit nominations from the organizations to participate in this prestigious competition. The Awards are especially prominent in today’s corporate landscape because of credibility and impartiality.

The main objective of this event is to encourage and felicitate organizations for Innovative Training Practices. The Program will include selected presentations by the participating organizations focusing on unique features of their Innovative Training practices adopted by them.  The presentation will bring out innovation in the planning, design execution, and development.    

The event will be of immense value to senior and middle level management personnel and different business and they will benefit from the discussions stemming from the analysis of the linkages between theoretical models and evolving new practices.  We would request you to kindly take advantage of this program and nominate some of your executives for the same.

CONFERMENT OF FELLOWSHIP OF THE SOCIETY FOR 2020-21, 2021-22 & 2022-23

Kindly forward your nominations for consideration for conferment of the Fellowship Awards of the Society for the year 2020-21, 2021-22 & 2022-23 through your Chapter. While deciding about nominations, please take into consideration para 2 (ii) of the Memorandum of Association & Rules and Regulations of ISTD, which is reproduced below:

“A Fellow shall be a person who has distinguished himself/herself in the field of Training & Development after working in this field for at least fifteen years and has at least ten years standing as individual or five years as Life member of the Society and on whom Fellowship is conferred by the National Council on the basis of the recommendation of Fellowship Committee.”

You are requested to send the details of the nomination for the Fellowship as per the attached Performa at the earliest but not later than 20th May, 2023. The envelope containing the nominations with all relevant information (six copies) be addressed to the General Manager and the envelope be super scribed as “Nomination for Fellowship Award 2020-21 or 2021-22 or 2022-23” and marked “CONFIDENTIAL”. A soft copy of the duly filled Performa along with enclosures may also be sent at info@istd.in.

BEST CHAPTER AND BEST SMALL CHAPTER AWARDS

The Best Chapter and the Best Small Chapter awards are given to Chapters based on : Growth in Membership; Enrichment of Chapter activities; Helping to establish new Chapters; Contributions to ISTD at National Level; Assistance to National Office/Regional Vice-Presidents in organising programmes; National/Regional Conventions, etc.; Collaborations with other Professional Institutions in training activities and mobilising Chapter level efforts for HRD.

Fellowship Awards

A fellow shall be a person who has distinguished himself/herself in the field of Learning & Development after working in this field for at least 15 years and has at least 3 yeards standing as Life member of the Society and on whom Fellowship is conferred by the National Council on the basis of recommendation by the members of Fellowship Committee consisting of 5 existing Fellows including Chairperson of the Committee. The Chairperson of the Fellowship Committee will facilltate with other members of the Fellowship Committee and communicate the decision to the National President. The recommendation for awarding fellowship should be on a majority basis made by at least 3 out of the 5 members of the Fellowship Committee.

This is to request you to kindly forward your nominations for consideration for conferment of the Fellowship Awards of the Society for the year 2020-21, 2021-22 & 2022-23 through your Chapter. NATIONAL AWARDS FOR INNOVATIVE TRAINING PRACTICES

The award is intended for organisations which have adopted innovative practices on human resources development in their respective organisations during the year.

YOUNG MALE/FEMALE TRAINERS AWARD

These awards have been instituted to encourage young Male and Female trainers, below 35 years of age, who have made substantial contribution in the area of Training and Development in Industrial and Corporate as well Service Organisations in the Country.

ISTD-FICCI AWARD FOR EXCELLENCE IN HR PRACTICES

To encourage innovative HR Practices for organisational excellence, ISTD has instituted an award of excellence named in the memory of a senior ISTD member called “P L Tandon” ISTD-FICCI award for excellence in HR Practices.

BOOK AWARD

The award has been instituted to encourage Indian writers who have made outstanding contributions to the understanding of management principles and practices in the country.

BEST PAPER AWARD

The best Paper award is given to the merited Best article published during the year in the Indian Journal of Training and Development (IJTD) of ISTD.

KAMLA AWARD

Kamla Award is given to a woman writer for the Best article published in IJTD during a year.

VIVEKANANDA AWARD

Vivekananda Award is given to an organisation for Excellence in HRD and Training.

CEO’S AWARD

The award has been instituted to recognise the CEOs, who are doing exemplary work in the field of HRD and Training and Development in their organisation in Private/Public Sector to Manufacturing/Services Sectors etc.

SHARU RANGNEKAR MEMORIAL LEARNING & DEVELOPMENT AWARD

Late Mr. Sharu S. Rangnekar was a Chemical Engineer from Mumbai University with a Master of Business Administration degree from the U.S.A. He started his management career in 1951, worked in several multinationals till he took early retirement from Searle (India) as the Managing Director at the end of 1978. Thereafter he taught as Visiting Faculty at Tata Institute of Social Sciences and Management Institutes attached to Mumbai University. He has been a popular lecturer and writer on management topics. His books “In the Wonderland of Indian Managers”, “In the World of Corporate Managers”, “How to Learn Management from Your Wife” and “Soft Skills in Management” have become management classics. His books have been translated in Marathi, Hindi, Gujrati, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada.

He was President Emeritus with Indian Society of Training and Development and significantly contributed towards the growth of ISTD at the early years and was a torch bearer of ISTD till his last days. In order to recognize his contributions towards the Indian L&D world, ISTD decided to start a prestigious award in the memory of Late Sharu Rangnekar in coordination with Sharu Rangnekar Trust.
