COURSE OVERVIEW

The course will cover all the key milestones in the competency development movement, Competency Models, competency design, development, implementation, and impact assessment of both the technical competency framework [TCF] and leadership competency framework [LCF] as part of the Integrated Talent Management System in an organization.

COURSE OBJECTIVES

  • To create awareness about competency movement and its relevance as a learning & development professional
  • Empower learner, how to design, develop, implement technical competency framework [TCF] and leadership competency framework [LCF] as part of Integrated Talent management System in an organization

LEARNING OUTCOMES

  • The student / learner will be able to develop deeper understanding of competency development and implementation in Development Centre.
  • The student / learner will be able to design, develop and implement technical competency framework [TCF] and leadership competency framework [LCF] for Integrated Talent Management System in an organization.

COURSE CONTENT

Module 1: Introduction & competency movement

  • What is competency, Type of competency, Competency movement, Various models of Competency Development, Relevance of competency for a learning and development professional.

Module 2: Technical Competency Framework

  • ADDIE model and Technical  Competency Framework [TCF] design, development, implementation and evaluation after holistic analysis of an organization.
  • A case study of Technical  Competency Framework [TCF] of an organization

Module 3: Leadership Competency Framework

  • ADDIE model and leadership development framework design, development, implementation and evaluation after holistic analysis of an organization.
  • Universal leadership insight for a leader/entrepreneur irrespective of the industry and domain and its relevance in leadership competency design and development.
  • A case study of leadership development framework of an organization

Module 4: Development Centre Execution Strategy

  • Strategy diamond and its elements in designing the execution strategy of development in an organization.
  • A case study from the industry to the exposed learner about the practical aspect of the development centre.

Module 5: Application of Development Centre in Integrated Talent Management Centre

  • Application of Development Centre outcomes in integrated Talent Management System keeping present and future organizational needs. How TCF and LCF are linked with the overall human resource management system.
  • A case study from the industry to the exposed learner about the practical aspect of the development centre.

Module 6: Learning by Doing Assignment

  • Collaborate with an organization involved in competency design, development, implementation in the organization and work as a side hustle to hone the skills to develop competency framework and execution at Development Centre.
  • Alternatively, collaborate with a growing startup organization where a competency framework is not in place and offer to design and develop a competency framework for the organization as a side hustle.

Note: This assignment to be briefed along with the introductory session so that learner starts preparing for the same. Or learner may take this assignment as internship project.

Module 7: Revision Class

Course revision/Discussion of question papers/Peer Learning

Mode/Inclusive Methods in classes: Flipped Classroom, Whiteboard, Case Study Discussions, Lectures/Demonstrations, Audio-Visuals, Role Play, Class Discussion/Interactivity, Class Quizzes, Practice and QnA.

In addition, Faculty may adopt other methods as applicable.
