Training Measurement & Evaluation
COURSE OVERVIEW
Learning and Development is an integral strategic function to improve business performance. Most of the organizations are investing huge amount for training programs. Any time we deliver training to a team, we need to know how effective it has been – are learners putting their learning into practice, is it positively impacting their role and the wider organization, is it positively impacting the business outcomes.
Measurement and Evaluation of these programs, therefore, become inevitable. This course will cover all the key approaches and techniques to help the learner apply at work and make a measurable difference at work.

- Developing knowledge on data analysis, training audit and reporting writing

- Be able to implement the process, methods, models, theories for evaluation
- Develop tools for evaluation and improve quality of measurement procedures
- Conduct data analysis, training audit and prepare reports to make better decisions
COURSE CONTENT
Module 1: Introduction to the subject
- Overview of evaluation activities during training need analysis, design, delivery, and post training application (pre-training, during training, post-training)
- Difference between measurement and evaluation
- Importance of training measurement and evaluation
- Use of technology in measurement and evaluation and examples
Module 2: Stakeholder Approach to Measurement and Evaluation
- Direct and Indirect stakeholders
- Stakeholder Contributions and Inducements
Module 3: Theories and Principles to achieve High Learning Outcomes and Knowing your Learners
- Revisit the Adult Learning Theories and Principles, Motivational Theories, Adult Learning Styles, Cognitive, Affective and Psychomotor measurements
Module 4: Steps of Training Evaluation and Models for Evaluation
- Steps of evaluation process
- Identifying purposes of evaluation and discussing business cases
- Kirkpatrick Model of Training evaluation
- Other Integrated Models, Methods and Approaches of evaluation (Jack Phillip ROI, Robert Brinkerhoff, CIRO, Kaufman, Anderson, AEIOU, Success Case Study Method, Systematic Evaluation Method, Systems Thinking Approach, Action Research Approach, Appreciative Enquiry Approach)
- V (Value) Chain and Evaluation strategies

Module 5: Designing Tools for Evaluation and Data Collection
- Designing Quantitative and Qualitative tools: Forms, Templates, Surveys, Questionnaires, Interview, Quiz etc
- “Hard” and “Soft” measures of business performance
Module 6: Data Analysis and Report Writing
- Steps in Data Analysis with illustrations
- Data Analysis process
- Overview of Data Analysis tools : Excel, SPSS, R, etc
- Case scenarios/examples, Problem Solving, Formulae and Calculations for business performance or impact measures
- Report writing
Module 7: Training Process Audit and Report Writing
- Checklist for Training Process Audit

Module 8: Revision Class
- Course revision/Discussion of question papers/Peer Learning
Mode/Inclusive Methods in classes: Flipped Classroom, Whiteboard, Case Study Discussions, Lectures/Demonstrations,

Also, the Faculty may adopt other methods as applicable.
